Lamar Jackson isn't coming back

It's been over a month since the Baltimore Ravens have played a game, and we are less than a month away from the start of the new league year. It feels like Lamar Jackson will not be playing for the Ravens next year.

On the surface it seems wild that an MVP Quarterback wouldn't re-up with the team that drafted him. But, with Jackson representing himself and the team appearing to not be willing to give out a fully guaranteed deal, this negotiation has felt less than normal.

The Ravens have been long considered one of the more stable franchises and it appears that they consider the Deshaun Watson deal an outlier.

The contract for Jackson may come down to whether or not he or Ravens ownership is willing to budge. But, who is the Baltimore Ravens owner? The answers to the Lamar Jackson contract questions may come down to him.

Steve Bisciotti first bought ownership in the Baltimore Ravens in 2000 and then took over full ownership in 2004. Bisciotti is a Baltimore guy, growing up in the area after he moved from Philadelphia at a young age.

Biscotti is a self made man, after graduating from college he helped start a company that later grew into one of the largest staffing firms around the globe. He is valued at 6.4 Billion dollars, which ranks him the 389th most wealthy person in the world according to Forbes.

His background is managing people and managing money. If Biscotti doesn't feel like he should give out a fully guaranteed deal to Jackson, he probably won't. A deal as large as Jackson is looking for would most likely require the owner to sign off on.

To this point it doesn't appear that Steve Bisciotti will change his mind. If he doesn't feel like a fully guaranteed contract will help the organization and team as a whole, he probably won't make it.

If Bisciotti and the Ravens don't decide to re-sign Jackson, it may be hard to blame them. The franchise has been stable for decades now and very competitive on the field. They have also been regarded as one of the best run organizations in sports. WIth all that being said, Lamar Jackson is a superstar.

At this point I don't believe Lamar Jackson is coming back. They can't agree on a deal. The situation has gotten sour for both sides and now a fresh start for both the team and Jackson could be the way this ends.
